Choose Love

Love is rarely the easy choice — especially during stressful seasons. John writes, “Let us love one another, for love comes from God.” (1 John 4:7). Love is less about emotion and more about intentionality. Especially when irritation is the quickest and easiest reaction. Like during these days of crowded parking lots, busy stores full of hurried people and every other stressor surrounding the holidays. Everything gets amplified.

Maybe someone’s tone stings. Maybe someone’s pace slows you down. Maybe someone’s mistakes frustrate you. Love is the choice to respond with gentleness when the moment invites frustration. It’s a quiet miracle — a little incarnation of grace.

Good news begins when we choose love in the places where it feels most inconvenient. That’s where God’s heart becomes visible.

Be good news today: choose love in situations where irritation comes easier in crowded stores, parking lots and etc. Love comes from God, and choosing gentleness is how grace becomes visible in the moment. (1 John 4:7)
