Restoration is righteousness that rolls up its sleeves. Isaiah speaks of God’s people as “repairers of broken walls” and “restorers of streets to dwell in” (Isaiah 58:12). That’s not poetry — it’s a calling. Righteousness refuses to look at brokenness and say, “That’s just how it is.”

God promises through Amos to “repair the ruined cities and rebuild them” (Amos 9:14). Restoration isn’t instant. It’s patient, persistent work — healing injustices, mending relationships, rebuilding trust, and repairing whatever neglect has left in pieces.

Righteousness restores because God restores. Every time we lift what’s fallen, mend what’s torn, or rebuild what was lost, we echo the God who makes all things new.

Righteousness restores. Scripture calls us repairers of broken walls and restorers of streets. Don’t leave broken things where they fell. Rebuild what injustice tore down. God delights in making ruins rise again. (Isaiah 58:12 / Amos 9:14)
