Service is righteousness in action. James warns us against seeing someone in need and saying, “Go in peace, stay warm, eat well,” without actually helping (James 2:15–16). Real faith doesn’t send thoughts and prayers as a substitute for presence — it moves toward the need.

Jesus said He came not to be served, but to serve (Mark 10:45). When we serve others, we are not performing charity — we are imitating Christ. Every act of service, whether public or invisible, pushes back the selfishness that tries to rule our world.

Righteousness shows up. It lifts burdens, carries weight, and meets people where they are. When the church serves, it becomes unmistakably Christ-shaped — and unmistakably needed.

Service is righteousness in motion. James says faith without action is dead. Jesus came not to be served but to serve, and we follow His lead. Real faith doesn’t look away — it steps in. (James 2:15-16 / Mark 10:45)
