Love doesn’t mean letting people tear you apart. Proverbs warns us not to answer every fool according to their folly (Proverbs 26:4)—because sometimes what looks like conviction is really just noise.

Jesus called us to love our enemies, but He also walked away from those who only wanted to trap Him in debate. There’s a holy kind of silence that protects the heart. Paul wrote, “As far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” (Romans 12:18) Sometimes peace means not taking the bait.

You can refuse to argue without refusing to love. You can draw a boundary without drawing a weapon. The church’s voice grows clearer when it stops shouting back at the darkness and just keeps shining.

Love doesn’t mean endless debate. Christ walked away from arguments that only bred hate. We can refuse to fight without refusing to love. As far as it depends on us, live at peace with everyone. (Proverbs 26:4 / Romans 12:18)
